Dexter-Huron Metropark

Dexter Cider Mill
The Dexter Cider Mill has been family-owned and operated since 1886. The mill holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating cider mill in the state of Michigan. From the authentic oak press to using a variety of local apples to create unpasteurized cider, the mill has made very few changes to its processes over the years in an effort to preserve history. Visitors will also find delicious donuts, caramel apples, apple nut bread, and other scrumptious treats when they plan a visit! Other goodies on the menu range from apple strudel and hand-rolled gingersnaps, to frozen slushies, barbecue sauces, pickled asparagus, popcorn, honey, and more. Adult visitors ages 21 and up can also try the hard cider that the mill is now making.
Dexter Blueberry Farm
Looking for a local U-pick farm? The Dexter Blueberry Farm provides a great way to spend quality time with loved ones while you stay active outdoors, picking some of the best blueberries around. Open seasonally, the trip to the farm is a tradition of many area families. Blueberry season typically starts sometime in July and runs for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. The farm rotates between two fields during the season and even has a range of blueberry-forward recipes that patrons can make using their own hand picked berries. The farm requests that visitors bring a clean bucket (or they can borrow one on-site) and dress appropriately for the weather.
